Here's an interesting bit of trivia from yesterday's loss. When Mark Kiger entered the game in the bottom of the 8th as a defensive replacement, he made a major league first. He became the first player in major league history to make his big league debut in the postseason. That's pretty amazing. Also as a result of his entry into the game, there seems to have been a spike of google searches on Mark Kiger, and a lot of them seem to be leading people... here. Overnight, this humble blog has become the 6th ranked site when you google him. If you throw out the statistics-only results, autographed card, and AN comment, The Pastime is the top ranked source on Mark Kiger on Google. Here's hoping Kiger doesn't become the only player to have played in only a postseason game, and not a regular season game, and that I can write more about his days as an Oakland A.
