  • Oakland 2006 hitting sparklines

As a handy way to visualize what kind of season each player had in 2006, I generated these sparklines using Joe Gregorio’s sparkline generator. There’s more to a hitter than batting average, I know, but I find it interesting to see the trends when a player was slumping, and when they were on fire.

I’ll have a full rundown of the Oakland players’ stat graphics (as seen here) later on today or early tomorrow.

(A red dash means a game in which the player got a hit, and a gray dash is a hitless game. The higher the red dash, the more hits that player got.)

    Name G Avg
    Jason Kendall 143 .295
    Jay Payton 142 .296
    Milton Bradley 96 .276
    Mark Kotsay 129 .275
    Frank Thomas 137 .270
    Marco Scutaro 117 .266
    Nick Swisher 157 .254
    Mark Ellis 124 .249
    Eric Chavez 137 .241
    Dan Johnson 91 .234
    Bobby Crosby 96 .229
