  • Baseball is Here!

Today is a happy coincidence for me, as Oakland’s pitchers and catchers report to Phoenix Municipal Stadium in Arizona, while Nebraska opens their baseball season in Arlington, Tex., at the UTA invite.

I’ve also finalized my Spring Training plans, which is a nice mental relief from this below-zero weather we’ve been having here in Nebraska. I’ll be in the Phoenix area from March 6th to the 17th. Here’s the rundown of games I’ll likely be attending:

    March 6 - Royals @ A’s, 1:05

    March 7 - A’s @ Cubs, 1:05

    March 8 - Rangers @ A’s, 1:05; Angels @ Royals, 7:05

    March 9 - A’s @ Giants, 1:05

    March 10 - Cubs @ Royals, 1:05 *

    March 11 - A’s @ Angels, 1:05 *

    March 12 - A’s @ Mariners, 1:05

    March 13 - A’s @ Giants, 1:05 * or Royals @ Angels, 1:05 *; Kansas State @ Arizona State, 7:05 *

    March 14 - Rockies @ Royals, 1:05 *; Kansas State @ Arizona State, 7:05 *

    March 15 - A’s @ Rockies, 1:05

    March 16 - Royals @ Mariners, 1:05 *; Diamondbacks @ A’s, 7:05

    March 17 - Brewers @ A’s, 1:05

(* indicates a game I’m not sure if I’ll be able to attend or not, but I’ll try.)

If you’re going to be at any of those games, look for me and say hi. I look just the like guy in the upper right hand corner of this page, only the A’s hat is a little more worn by now. I’ll probably be in the parking lot beforehand with my grill set up making myself some lunch.

You lucky bastard. Wish I could get away to Spring Training and see that many games. You get to see 12 games in a row?! Freakin’ awesome. I am curious to see how Dan Meyer pitches now that he is supposedly healthy. Also am eager to hear more about Kurt Suzuki and it will be interesting if Durazo has a monster spring.
